This blog is focused on all topics related to  independent overland expedition and adventure travel.  The aim is to blog about current, future and past vehicle based expeditions which involve overland travel - be it a Trans-Africa trip, a world expedition or simply an adventurous trip.
The primary source of information comes from The Africa Overland Network.

The current blog authors are:
Martin Solms
Nick Bradshaw

A little bit about Martin: I have been directly involved in overland travel since the late 1990's and have completed two extended trips in the past.
My first trip was in a 1968 Series II Land Rover - To Africa and Beyond and the 2nd a Trans-Africa trip in 2005 journalled in the website called BigSky Adventures.
BigSky Adventures

My passion is Africa Overland.  This continent offers the most diverse cultural experiences, good overlanding route finding plus a host of game reserves to keep anyone busy.

I am currently living in Sydney, Australia and am currently learning to love the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado D4D.

Langebaan Sunset
A little about Nick: A 41 year old Brit who is emigrating to South Africa overland in a 14 year old Land Rover Defender 110.  Along with Nick is his wife Vicki and the trip is combining his Honeymoon with his passion for photography.  The journey is approx 15 months long via the West Coast route and Nick will be posting to the Overland Live Blog “from the road”.  Nick is looking forward to settling in Cape Town and exploring more of the Southern African continent in the years to come www.langebaan-sunset.com.

Overland Live is always looking for guest authors. We all have something to say and all have a very different way of conveying the same message.  Please get in touch if you fancy jotting down a few random thoughts.
